GDPR - Personal data protection of the Center for Information Resources

In accordance with Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the European Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the protection of personal data and on amending and supplementing certain acts (Zákon č. 18/2018 Z. z. o ochrane osobných údajov a o zmene a doplnení niektorých zákonov).

Operator:

• Operator of the information system: University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava

Purpose of processing and storing personal data:

• registration of users, loans and reminders
• records of publication activities and responses
• records of final and qualifying theses
• informing users about library services/events
• informing users for the purpose of protecting property and library funds

Legal basis:

• Act 126/2015 Coll. on Libraries:
  • The legal basis for processing the provided personal data is the consent expressed by submitting an application for registration at the Center of Information Resources UCM
  • In the event of failure to provide personal data, the Center of Information Resources UCM will not be able to keep the person concerned on the reader list and provide them with services
• Act No. 131/2002 Coll., Act No. 455/2012 Coll., Decree of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Slovak Republic No. 456/2012 Coll., Methodological Guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Slovak Republic No. 56/2011:
  • Personal data is processed by authorized and instructed employees of the UCM University Library
  • The UCM University Library also provides the personal data of the person concerned to the entities that manage the library information system for it: SVOP, s.r.o. and  SCSTI (CVTI SR) with CREPČ and CREUČ

Processing of personal data:

• Personal data is not provided to third parties
• Personal data is not transferred to third countries
• Personal data is processed in the library information system
• Personal data is processed to the extent specified in the application and in accordance with the Library and Loan Regulations
• Personal data processing period:
  • the entire period of study or payment of the registration fee
  • and another 1,825 days from the last confirmation of registration
• After the processing period has expired or after the purpose of the processing has ended, the operator disposes of personal data
• The person concerned can request the disposal of his personal data even during the processing period, if he has no obligations towards the operator
• The UCM Center of Information Resources permanently stores the bibliographic records of publishing activities and responses
• Personal data included in the author's final thesis is kept for 70 years

Rights and options of the person concerned:

• On the basis of a written request from the operator, the person concerned has the right to:
  1. request access to their personal data
  2. request correction, deletion or restriction of processing of their personal data
  3. object to the processing of personal data
  4. to the portability of their personal data
  5. withdraw their consent to the processing of personal data at any time, if the personal data is processed on this legal basis
• The person concerned has the right to file a motion to initiate proceedings pursuant to § 100 of Act no. 18/2018 Z. of on the Protection of Personal Data, as amended, to the supervisory authority, which is:
